Hi, I’m Courtney!
Maybe you want to invest in your health? Maybe you want some “me” time and a little self-care? Or maybe you have so much on your plate you just need a moment to simply breathe? Whatever it is, the class you decide to take is yours and yours only.
Don’t worry about doing the poses “correctly.” Modify the poses to your level of comfortability. There are tons of other ways to decompress and relieve stress, but yoga is what the universe chose for you at this moment in time. If you have been wanting to try a yoga class the time is now. I promise to create a safe and welcoming space for you as we create peace and balance during your yoga practice.
My Story
It all began with mom life, work life, anxiety, and stress.
One of my close friends asked me to go to a hot yoga class with her and I jumped at the opportunity to take part in a little self-care. I had never done yoga before and to be honest I didn’t know very much about yoga at all. This wasn’t your average beginner yoga class. This was hot yoga class, which means it is a 105 degrees in the room with 40 percent humidity.
That first yoga class changed my life. I was hooked. For the first time in a long time I was able to connect to my breath and my body and I felt a sense of relief. I left that class feeling relaxed, yet invigorated at the same time.
I went back for more and after my third hot yoga class I looked at my friend and said, “I am going to teach yoga to kids.” I didn’t know what that meant at the time, but I knew that if I could help kids connect to their breath and their body then I could help give them skills they could use to calm their bodies and their minds. Here we are seven years later and I am teaching yoga to students of all ages and I could not be happier.
